Minghe Morte

Drum 'n' Bass, Shoe-Gazing Indie Grunge Rock and Electronica

Minghe Morte have over the last year been heard on Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 show and Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone. Musically bouncing between garage-house, speed-punk and death-jazz they offer up “an intense, scatological burst of violent jump cuts and vein-busting skronk”… “gore-spattered car-crash jazz” (Daniel Spicer, Jazzwise)… Check ‘em out at www.myspace.com/minghemorte.

Johnny Tomlinson – Piano Simon Kaylor – Tenor Saxophone Tommy Evans –Drums Simon Beddoe – Trumpet/Flugel Horn Nick Tyson – Guitar Seth Benett – Double Bass Bringing together some of the most innovative, exceptional & contemporary musicians in the North, If Destroyed Still True are led by the percussive genius of Tommy Evans & featuring Parliamentary Jazz Award winner Nick Tyson on guitar, fire & brimstone honker Simon Kaylor on sax, Si Beddoe blowing out the cobwebs on Trumpet & the expressive fingers of Johnny Tomlinson on the ivories. Whilst drawing upon influences from Avishai Cohen to Perfect Houseplants IDST have developed a more orchestral style whilst retaining a focus on improvisation & musical communication. This has resulted in a coming together of jazz & folk in an idiosyncratically English fashion - sweeping melodies, unusual harmonic progression & complex rhythm keeping. Music to keep the listener on their toes without alienating.
